Dr Jaqi Bousie combines nearly 20 years of clinical experience with her role researching and teaching future clinicians as an Assistant Professor at the University of Canberra. Her PhD investigating the impact of cycling biomechanics in foot and knee pain was conducted at the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS).

Some of Jaqi’s current clinical research includes biomechanics and injury prevention, particularly in running; understanding foot function; gluteal tendinopathy; use of shear wave elastography in musculoskeletal injuries; physical activity; and mental health impacts on pain and clinical conditions. She also enjoys teaching and the opportunity it brings to educate physio students and challenge their thinking in musculoskeletal health.

Over the past 19 years Jaqi has worked in private practice and high performance sports through the Queensland Academy of Sport and AIS. She has an interest in running and cycling injuries, pelvic and lower limb musculoskeletal injuries, foot pain, and tendinopathy. Jaqi is passionate about bringing together her research knowledge and clinical experience, taking a holistic approach to help people of all ages and physical activity levels get back to the things they love.
