Gemm Wheildon
Bachelor of Exercise Physiology and Rehabilitation Science
Gemma is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist, having graduated from the University of Canberra with a Bachelor of Exercise Physiology and Rehabilitation Science. She has more than 28 years coaching experience across a variety of disciplines, including the unusual combination of dance, gymnastics, Calisthenics, and powerlifting. Having spent much of her adult life at university, Gemma thrives on research across a range of disciplines. A strong focus of her professional practice is adapting and applying evolving knowledge to meet individual needs in creative ways. She specialises in helping people see past limitations and reach new and challenging goals.
Through competitive sports experience from a young age, biomechanics and movement patterning are both fascinating and central to her therapeutic practice. Gemma takes a nuanced, capacity building approach to training and ardently believes in using exercise to treat musculoskeletal injuries and chronic health conditions. She has experience supporting patients with neuromuscular and degenerative disorders; mental health challenges, neurodiversity and cognitive decline; cardiopulmonary conditions and healthy ageing, in particular dealing with osteoporosis and arthritis.
Outside of work, Gemma can be found tackling art and DIY projects, trying to keep up with what her amazing nephews think is cool, or curled up with her cat.
